The extremely low prices of many used cars for sale available in the market today invite many car lovers to buy one for them. However, before you finally purchase the used car you are eyeing, below are some of the things you should know first to avoid the common mistakes that used car buyers do.

As-is Document – it is a document that car buyers are required to sign prior to the purchase of the used car they want. This statement composed of two boxes, the Warranty and As-is No Warranty. If ever the buyer chose the Warranty box, he or she will be responsible of understanding the warranty coverage and its length. On the other hand, if the as-is No Warranty box is checked, the buyer will be responsible of all the problem that occur after the sales.

Automatic Warranty – if like any other, you also believe that used cars have an automatic warranty, you must know the real score behind it. Used car dealers are not in any way required to give any type of warranty. Any warranty given must be in writing to become enforceable. On the other hand, some of the used cars for sale have still remaining factory warranty. Buyers must check the car’s accident history, damage and abuse that might void the factory warranty.

Take Back Period – if you believe that there is a 3-day money back guarantee when purchasing a used car, then you must keep in mind that there is no such law that states that used car buyers can take their money back if they are not satisfied with the car’s performance after the purchase. It is the buyer’s sole responsibility to do a thorough inspection and know the real situation of the car before buying.

Used Car Lemon Law – if you buy used car in the United States, keep in mind that there is no Car Lemon Law in most States. There can be a new car Lemon Law, but never assume that it applies the same to used cars.

Used Car Values – generally, web sites and publications state a used car values in their listings. One must note that these values are the additions and deductions for optional equipments, excessive miles and the like and no deductions are being shown that addresses the car’s actual mechanical condition. If you were to do a professional pre-purchase inspection, you will most like to discover that car’s condition, its needed repairs, previous damages and abuse, which will lead you to the car’s real value.

If you were wise enough to know these things before buying your new used car, you will surely never end up buying a lemon.

This is a guest post written by Carly G. She runs a site called,
MyCarForAGrand, a website helping those on a budget for $1000 cars and under, as well as tips and tricks.

If you’re on a budget and you want to purchase a new car, let’s face it, it’s not going to be cheap. It seems as if you want all the bells and whistles out there, you’re going to have to pay an arm and leg. Who really wants to drop $25,000 on a car with navigation, a DVD player and more? This just doesn’t make sense.

If you’re a poor folk like me and you want to spend less than $1,000 on a car, did you know that you can get that done? I wanted to give you some pointers on how you can find a car that isn’t going to break the bank.

Craigslist – The first place that I check is Craigslist. The reason I check this site is because you’re going to find that the owners aren’t going to want to pay a fee on their listing. Instead, they will just put it up for free. Trust me; if it’s a good deal, it’s going to go fast. Make sure that you keep your eyes peeled here and search daily, if not every few hours.

eBay – This is a great place to find cars in your local area. Even if you’re willing to go out of your way, you can still check them out to see what’s around. I generally will say to search within 75 miles or so. This is generally your best bet.

Auctions – Whether it’s a public auction or a government action, you will want to try one of these out as well. What you can do is show up before hand to check out the inventory. Since you really won’t know what they are going to go for, you can always do a Kelley Blue Book check online to get a fairly good idea. Just make sure that you mark the condition down.

It’s going to take a lot of searching as well as patience. A good car is going to go fast. If it’s been on the market for more than a few days, you’re going to want to question what it truly is worth. Get a mechanic to look at it, as well as compare a few other cars before biting the bullet. Over time, you should be able to find something that works best for you!

Many think that GPS tracking is one of the many new technological heroes of the 21st

century. With businesses drawling at the mouth over the cost cutting and increased control it has over their staff. As for security insurance companies virtually insist on having tracking systems installed in expensive motor vehicles otherwise they won’t insure them. Once the price of tracking comes down further I would not be surprised if it becomes a standard requirement on all cars or at least all new cars.

Many would argue what is the problem with tracking. It means that you are much more likely to get your car recovered if you have stolen vehicle tracking installed. If you are running a business then it is only natural that you want to improve efficiency.

That’s fine, but I can’t help feeling that vehicle tracking is the slippery slope. Its taking us closer and closer to the big brother state which we have talked about for years. I think it starts off being used for innocent uses and then ends up being used to just control us further.

Technology does make our lives easier and safer, but maybe we don’t need our lives to be made any easier. Just maybe an extra little bit of danger is what we need in our lives. Maybe it would be good for us to have things a little harder.

Fleet tracking does stop people from skiving off at work and using the company vehicle for uses that are un work related, but maybe it’s good to have some perks and loop wholes. Surely it makes life that bit more fun if everything is not perfect and controlled.

There have been 77 races since his last triumph in Daytona 500 in 2008 a long wait for an extraordinary driver such as Newman.

The online NASCAR sports betting fans were surprised by this victory as the clear favorite on the books was the experienced driver Kyle Busch who after his victory in the Nationwide Series on Friday was expected to repeat his performance.

The difference between winning or losing on this race was marked by a fatal decision of the leaders (Busch, Johnson) who at the entrance to the pits decided to change 4 wheels, while others changed only 2 (Gordon, Newman). This made the leaders loose several positions that later on could not be recovered.

Jimmie Johnson, finished in third place after leading a total of 113 laps in one of its most propitious circuits. Johnson holds now at the top of the standings.

Mark Martin and Juan Pablo Montoya completed the Top5 of the circuit.

How do I buy a muscle car? It may look simple for some experts but for others it is tough task to choose and make a decision. For this reason I thought it would make sense to answer this question in this article. This article is for a person who is new to muscle car world. If you want to own one muscle car but have no idea on how to go about.

Buying a muscle car go thorough a series of steps like

• Determining the make and model of the muscle car you want
• Determining how to use the car
• Determining the price range and payment method
• Purchase insurance, evaluate the car and drive home.

First, decide how you want to use the car. This is critical one that you need to analyse before you go out for purchasing. Based on this you can determine other aspects like make, model, price etc. it is important because until and unless you determine the purpose of the car purchase how can you go out and choose the specification of it.

Here are common uses of the car. See which one suits for you.

• For racing purpose
• Investment
• Car show winner
• Drive anywhere
• Weekend drive

Racing purpose is quite straight forward but must be determined before you buy because it must be specifically designed to run. You can make any type of car to run but one that is specifically designed will run free flowing, have hopped up engine and transmission and sparse interior.

Investment purpose: this is the car brought strictly for its potential growth in value. The purpose of this purchase is to sell latter for higher price.

Car show winner: the purpose of this purchase is to participate in car shows. As a general rule of thumb, only cars that are popular in model will fit this purpose.

Weekend drive: the purpose of this buy is to drive in weekends. For this it does not require to have high performance engine nor does it require having $20k paint work. Its real goal is to comfortably run.

Second, determine the make and model of the car. Once you have arrived at the purpose for which you are looking to buy a muscle car, start looking at different makes of the car. There are many manufacturers that are specialized in muscle cars. For example: ford and GM.

Try to locate a car that fits your purpose of purchase. Try to do enough research before you arrive at particular choice. Jot down all the make and models that you think suits your purpose. With having a list of makes and models, start doing specific research and comparison regarding the performance, reliability and effectiveness of the car.

Once you have arrived at car that fits you purpose, start taking a look at the price ranges and payment methods from different dealers. Confirm everything in writing with dealers before you make a final agreement. If the price is within your range and dealer accepts your payment methods, do not delay as the offers do not last long. Get the car out of showroom and drive to your home.

Just the other day I ran across a useful website for those that are looking to do some machine work to their engines. This has to be the largest listing of USA based automotive machine shops that I have seen, and it is offered by the Crankshaft Company.

The Crankshaft Company is a small regional machine shop servicing existing customers, so it is nice of them to help automotive enthusiasts connect with local shops to help with performance upgrades to their engines. The automotive machine shops in their directory perform such tasks as boring, honing, cylinder head reconditioning in addition to other machining operations. Of course the Crankshaft Company handles crankshaft grinding, welding and other tasks involved with rotating assemblies.

If you are looking for a machine shop in the USA to work on your engine, I would recommend visiting the automotive machine shop directory offered by the Crankshaft Company. They have thousands of shops listed from all around the USA, including many of which employ professional ASE Certified engine machinists.

HID kits may have been on the market for a good few years now, but when the people in the know talk about them, it’s as if they are speaking in an alien language. Not only is it confusing, but it could be costly if you purchase the wrong type.

Understanding which bulbs and HID kits will fit your vehicle is vital in using the product to its full potential. In a world where the H7 is more suitable than an H1 or 55w only runs at 1600k, it can be easy to find HID kits a little too complicated. When you are wanting to change from argon or halogen bulbs to a xenon gas discharge kit, you first must understand the terminology.

We’ll start with the H number. H4 stands for the bulb fitment. It is used in halogen and regular OEM manufacturer terminology too. Honda’s are generally H4 or H4H fitment. The bulb holder will only accept the certain type of bulb, therefore getting the H number correct is important.

HID kits will come with bulbs usually, and they are rated in power using watts. With xenon bulbs being brighter and more efficient, the normal ranges are around 35w-55w, although the higher the wattage is a little overkill for road use.

A HID bulb runs at an operating temperature which is measured by the heat in terms of Kelvin or the k after each bulb. A 1600k bulb runs at 1600 degrees Kelvin. The higher the number, usually means the brightness or whiteness of the bulb’s results. Some manufacturers have blue tints to the bulbs which can help visibility, to show more of a daylight result when they are being used at night. This helps the driver not be affected by eye strain and tiredness as a result.

When buying a HID conversion kit one should make sure driving with modified car projectors is legal in his country/state. In a “HID-converted” vehicle, the high intensity light is not cut off properly and may blind the on-coming traffic. Most of the kits are sold for off-road and exhibition use only.
